Grist for the mill.

Joe Katzman over at Winds of Change linked to this report on the Iraqi situation. He calls it not ‘completely comfortable reading for anybody’: I’d agree*. He also calls it ‘very much worth reading’: I’d agree on that, too. Obviously.

And, on that note, I am officially now going back to bed: this cold I have is pure hell, not to mention busily wrecking any hope I had for social activities this weekend.

*It’s one of those nuanced reports that won’t satisfy hardliners on either side; both positive and negative trends were reported on. This will, of course, stop no one for using it for their own purposes…

Yup, I’m snarky when I’m sick. Well, snarkier than usual.

  1. Good stuff, good stuff.
I always feel better about the whole situation when I can get past the soothing, cloying doublespeak of the administration and learn more about what’s actually going on.
Bush has seriously underestimated the American peoples’ capacity to absorb damage if they feel like they’ve been prepared, they have a chance to participate, and they’re in it for the right reasons.
The whole WMD rationale was such a fiasco, top to bottom.
