  1. Moe you fool!
CNN is a wholly owned subsidiary of VRWC Inc. Part of the secret plan is that we have them act all liberal and haughty, then WHAM! we have ’em report stuff like “news” about the opposition. That little cretin with the sign is on to us, but don’t worry, Ashcroft has some jackboots ready for him.

  2. Basically. I figure they’re like Elizabeth Bumiller of the NYT, except on a larger scale. They do so much high-profile stuff, and not always well, that anyone who’s looking for virtually anything can find a large amount of egregiousness. After her unbelievable question at the last debate — “Is God on America’s side” — I wanted to see whether anyone had set up a Bumiller watchblog. And someone had — a conservative who was railing against all the times he felt she’d been unfair to Bush. And they could both be right, but if you focus on just one way they do things wrong, let alone the way they do things right, then you’re going to get a skewed picture.
Me? My background is as a print journalist, so I despise all TV news by default.

  3. That shows how much you know. I read over at Atrios that the “C” stands for “Conservative”.
    :-p

  4. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with charges that CNN are “union-busters” (link). I must admit that seeing six or seven of those signs behind Candy Crowley in primetime last night was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. I interned at a local news station this fall, and if something like that happened to us the producers would have completely flipped their shit and started screaming at the tech guys to change the picture. I’m sure the CNN people were doing the same thing.

  5. “Conunists”!! finally ‘Karl Rove and his Spinners’ have a name that doesn’t sound like a bad Motown ripoff. Conunists. I like it.
