Or as Joey once said on “Friends” (oh, save the judgements, will ya…): “You’re so far past the line, you can’t even see the line….the line’s a dot to you.”

They might as well add a tie-in for The Passion to the credit card. Like a nice big Jesus Nail in the background.
That really, really sucks. I’m 98 percent sure that the N.J. paper whose photographer took that photo released all copyright claims (after a lot of carping) like the AP did with the Iwo Jima flag-raising photo, so it could be used as a focal image. I don’t think that’s what they had in mind.
I agree, Carpeicthus. This represents a new low in my book.
You found the line, Edward. Fie on MasterCard.
I’m sorry, Slarti, but there’s no defendable connection between that image and a bank…
I do find all of this bumper-stickering distasteful, but I’m not going to pass any sort of moral judgement on those who don’t. Some people want images to remind them, others don’t need them. If nobody wants a MasterCard with firemen on it, no one will get them.
I’m way too old to be surprised at crassness in America.
On the other hand, maybe I’ll go take a shower and go outside on this nice day and sit under a tree. After I saw up the one downed by yesterday’s tornado.
🙂
If you are going to have that card, you really have to change the name and slogan of the Bank to: “9/11 Bank. Our name is crass and tacky, but our ATMs are open 24/7.”
