Toast and Bitter Revenge.

Steven Taylor has altered the Toast-O-Meter’s format to reflect Kerry’s effective capture of the Democratic nomination; there are some changed categories and a couple of new ones. Personally, I expect that a see-saw will be be a better metaphor than a toaster for this election (up to the primaries, at least), but that’s just me.

Steven also points out what may be the personally oddest Congressional race this year: Congressman’s Ex-Wife Runs Against Him. Now, what I don’t know about women and relationships could fill a library, but shoot, even I know that when an article begins with the paragraph:

Becky Whetstone has something to say to people who think they know why she’s running for Congress: Enough already with the jilted-wife-hellbent-on-revenge theory.

– the jilted-wife-hellbent-on-revenge theory is the safe way to bet.

Either that or she knows exactly how bad a Congressman he is, and she knows she can do better.
But, hey, why assume that women can make rational decisions based on their personal experience when it’s so much easier to make a sexist joke?
