Viagra Finds Another Use, for Lung Disease

Viagra is a “very effective medication” for people with pulmonary hypertension, Dr. B. K. S. Sastry who led the study told Reuters Health. “It relieves their symptoms … and, compared to previously available medications, it is a simple medication without many side effects.”

No adverse ones, anyway…

  1. Viagra and pornography have a lot in common, or at least you see a lot of ads for Viagra on pornography sites(cough … so I’ve heard). Could pornography cure pulmonary hypertension? Is John Ashcroft in favor of pulmonary hypertension since he wants to outlaw sites that advertise a treatment for it? Since Viagra causes erections, do erections cure pulmonary hypertension and if they do does that make John Ashcroft a dick?

  2. A little clarification- pulmonary hypertension is elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary cirulation, usually caused by poor pump output of the systemic circulation. Would make it hard to breath but the problem is really pump failure. Presumably Viagra improves pump output, boosting the pressure systemically and making the big E more likely or sustainable. In any case, not lung disease like you get from smoking.

  3. We wouldn’t be needin’ Viagra, if these modern women, would pluck their eyebrows, wear a dress every now and then, and lose the attitude. [Pause]…THWACK [Skillet upside head by Crazy Janey aka Mrs. Navy Davy]
