Sometimes you wish you could just go back in time and smack some sense into the fools…
Democratic club’s ad suggests shooting Rumsfeld
Camp Kerry’s comment:
“We are calling the Pinellas County Democratic Party chair about this ad and demand that it be retracted,” Kerry campaign spokesman Stephanie Cutter told CNN. “John Kerry does not condone this type of advertising and believes that it is wrong.”
And the Newspaper’s:
Ken Reichart, co-owner of the The Gabber, told CNN that an apology from the newspaper as well as a retraction by the Democratic club would be carried in the next issue of the paper. He said he expected a retraction to be delivered shortly.
“It should not have been printed,” Reichart said. “We printed it in error. It’s one of those things that would normally not appear in this paper based on our history of 36 years.”
OK, I’ll say it. This was disgusting. No excuses. These morons deserve the wrath I’m quite sure is heading their way.
Thanks, Edward. I have to say, though, that I couldn’t have pictured you condoning this sort of thing to begin with. Nor could I imagine Kerry being stupid enough to knowingly endorse such ads.
Nope, it’s just a wingnut infestation. Welcome to politics.
Gosh, I’m so waiting for the sequel posting, “Idiocy on the Right”. But again, maybe this is the sequel to the Scripted Press Conference last night.
Wilfred…I fight “Idiocy on the Right” every day…across the entire Blogosphere…
this time, I thought it better to have the critique of this one come from the left first.
Regarding the Scripted Press Conference…you watched it…even knowing what the questions were going to be, he struggled. At a certain point, some things defy comment.
the guest on MSNBC after the Scripted Press Conference summed it up when she said “He gave the longest televised speech ever at a P.C. and then proceeded not to answer 11 or 12 questions that were asked.
the genius of lowering expectations
Okay, that’s kinda funny. I mean, yesterday I was positing that expectations of a quick resolution in Iraq had been built up too much. Now, if their trying to quell expectations, they’re going about it the wrong way. I can hear it now…
“I said lower expectations about Iraq, not lower expectations about the President!”
While we’re at it, how about idiocy on that paper’s sales staff? My kingdom for a copy editor.
copy editors? that’s like, so 1970’s.
