Sort of the equivalent of banging on somebody’s door, just to make sure that they’re still alive and kicking and stuff. Frex, it’s been a month since Constant Reader Catsy’s blog Slouching Donkey, Lying Elephant got updated; it never hurts to doublecheck, eh?
Add your own “Um… hello? Anybody home?” below.
Remember that blog called “disgustedliberal” with the big “helping liberals help themselves” on it? How long must the liberals among us remain helpless? Perhaps a less arrogant slogan would have been more appropriate.
Damn tickled that you noticed, Moe, but fear not, I’m still alive and still–well, /intending/ to blog. Life has been interfering.
The long and the short of it is that my fiance and I abruptly moved from Phoenix to Seattle a couple months ago, since which point we’ve been living with our respective families and working desperately to get jobs and save up for our own apartment. I’ve been working activism/voter registration jobs, which means long hours pounding the pavement and very little net access. I’ve disappeared from the comments at Tacitus and dKos, too, unfortunately.
Thankfully, I just got a job at Expedia, which means long hours sitting in front of fast net access with very little to do except keep the site from breaking down, and an apartment of our own very soon. I start in a week.
In the words of the Governator, I’ll be back. 🙂
“moved from Phoenix to Seattle a couple months ago”
Welcome!
Nice weather we’ve been having.
Having lived in Seattle for eight years, and spent two months in Phoenix from early July through early September, without air conditioning, I quite recommend Seattle over Phoenix as summer approaches.
But that’s just me.
We just spent the last six months in Phoenix while she was attending trade school. Me, I’ve been a Seattlite since my teens (about fifteen years now); she’s a Florida transplant who has a lot of anecdotal stories about voting irregularities in Broward County.
As for the nice weather, well–I’m of a mixed opinion about that. My eyes are photosensitive and I feel a spiritual kinship with the rain, so my idea of “nice weather” and everyone else’s tend to be polar opposites.
That said, you may safely assume that my moving to Phoenix for six months in the middle of the summer was an act of pure, selfless, loving devotion. 😉 That, or insanity.

I sense a Gorejacking in the making.
I’m one of those who hasn’t posted much lately. But I never posted all that much to begin with, so who’d notice?
Not content with being merely frantically busy, I adopted another project at work and am completely out of adjectives that describe how far behind I am. That, and the wife’s gone back to work about 3/4 time and will be full-time in May. And some HR difficulties that I won’t go into for obvious reasons.
Enough excuses?
