If you’re so POed about the twerp that you need to vent some more, I suggest that you click either click through to Max Sawicky’s site (even though he doesn’t link us, the so-and-so) or Citizen Smash’s (who does link us); they both seem equally annoyed about it. As for their dispute… much as I hate not getting the back of my ideological compatriot*, Indymedia ain’t the antiwar movement, thank God. Generally speaking, they shouldn’t be let within a square mile of the antiwar movement (on tactical grounds alone), but that’s another issue entirely.

*Especially since he’s the one that links us. Not that I’m trying to increase our Ecosystem rating, or anything. It’s not like hovering at the very cusp of Large Mammal status for days and days is all that big a deal…
Ted Rall’s Internal Monologue
Notice me. That’s it, not much to ask, a week of Rene what’s his name, the little Puerto Rican fuck with the thick lips and that awful awful hair….notice me, notice me. Micah Wright? Christ a tenth of my talent…

Tell it to the guy who used to be in the 110’s, but went down to twice that once johnny-come-lately blogs started being added.

Indymedia ain’t the antiwar movement
I disagree entirely. They are the movement. There are many people opposed to the war who don’t make their opposition the all-consuming core of their lives and it’s certainly accurate to say that Indymedia isn’t representative of most Americans’ anti-war sentiments. They, and their ANSWER compatriots, are the generators of many of the ridiculous conspiracy theories that I see even sensible Dems like my father starting to repeat. And they certainly are the ones organizing the marches and using the “this war is wrong” crowd as their tools. And just for a little more, a friend, admittedly a lefty (who would call herself “progressive”), who doesn’t have a hateful bone in her body, looks to Indymedia as an objective source of information.
I think (hope) you were trying to say that Indymedia doesn’t represent, for example, John Kerry supporters. I’d agree with that.
Andrew Sullivan is demanding that left-wing publications ban Rall – without noting that the NYTimes did drop him or pointing out any other “left-wing” sources that haven’t. He chides Salon for some reason, not noting they ran an essay saying,
“Yes, we are angry, often justifiably, but we are not ungrateful opportunists making a buck on the death of loved ones. That person is cartoonist Ted Rall.”
“I think (hope) you were trying to say that Indymedia doesn’t represent, for example, John Kerry supporters.”
Pretty much. They don’t even represent the vast majority of people who have participated in antiwar marches.
