Jeff Jarvis is casually taking the concept of the modern political convention, disassembling it to its component parts and redesigning it into a shape more aesthetically pleasing to him – and he hopes, the country at large.

He’s discussing it in terms of the Democrats, but, really, it’d work for either party. The transmission of information in the last two hundred years… well, not to put too fine a point on it, but the Founding Fathers would call it “magic”, and in Clarkesian (Arthur C) terms they’d be right. We’re able to link together people and causes from all over the country without even really thinking about it (in fact, we’re doing it right now): is it time to change our nomination process to reflect that? In fact, is it long past time?
