There are two kinds of people:

Those who divide people into categories,

and those who do so obsessively.

Open thread, but feel free to discuss any and all upsides/downsides to obsessive categorization.  Frankly, there was far too much there to even begin considering, especially after a mere four hours of sleep.

  1. There are three kinds of people in this world: those who are good at math, and those who aren’t.

  2. At a recent NY blogger gathering, I was summarily informed that, because I like to categorize my blogroll for easier reading by subject matter (either “News+Views” or “Kultcha”) and gender (Guys and Gals) and number (I have separate sections for Dynamic Duos and Group Blogs as well), I’m a Republican. That still grates on me.

  3. “…those who can spel, and those who cant
    i hope that wasn’t aimed at me… ?”
    Why? Are you a cantor?

  4. My own fav:
There are 2 kinds of people in the world, those who believe there are 2 kinds of people in the world, and those who don’t.
(You can get the Cretan effect by adding “I’m one of the latter.”)

  5. There are two types of people in the world:
Those that like to divide people into two types.
And the thousands of other types.
