Here's an open thread to play with for the holiday weekend. I'm actually going away with my brother and some friends to celebrate his impending loss of bachelorhood. My odds of returning in one piece are even at best. The odds that my wife will accept me back, slightly less.
Perhaps some baby pics if I find the time to raid Eric's expansive portfolio in between last minute packing – because travel isn't travel unless you leave something vital behind.

No one was seriously injured, or even moderately harmed, at my brother’s bachelor party, despite the fact that my expectation of success was if “no one drowned in the lake.” I attribute this to the general lack of hard alcohol (and my brother’s friends becoming more responsible being closer to 30 than 20).

My wife and I married in a rushed civil ceremony (the job offer was unexpected) one week before moving overseas. The closest I had to bachelor party was drinking a Fat Tire while trying to fill out a bunch of immigration forms in a foreign language and briefly ogling a Filene’s basement underwear ad while sitting on the john.

It will be fine, though I hope you know it’s your job as his brother (especially if you are, or he doesn’t have, a best man) to ensure that nothing too terrible happens to him or any other married man in the group. Bachelor parties can teach valuable life lessons. My husband learned at his not to eat sushi off strippers.

One of those few areas where Jesurgislac and I share sentiment, and that few others do. I can’t send an xkcd Valentine to my wife, for instance.

Status check: Alive and well. Still married. Liver not certain if it’s going to desert me for good.
