It is my great honor to announce to the distinguished readership of Obsidian Wings that I’ll be joining the gifted authors on this site on rare occasion.  Their invitation led me to question their judgment, as you are no doubt harboring your own doubts at this time.  In order to make them look better, I’ll try not to get in the way too often.

    To add to Ugh’s comment, ObWi’s “About Me” page is quite out of date – it overlooks you, obviously, and doesn’t seem to mention Publius.
    Similarly, on behalf of those of us who – however abjectly we may apologize for our ignorance – are unaware of your previous blogging, might I ask? I mean, it’s hardly critical that we know, as we should all be able to form our opinions based on what we read here, but comments such as Cernig’s lead me to think that maybe I should be aware of it, and it might be interesting.

    Impeach Bush, Cheney, and the rest of the criminal crew: withdraw from Iraq: found a renewed conservative politics in America that smart/decent bloggers don’t need to be constantly ashamed of?
    Might be worth doing anyway, you know, on its own merits, whether or not it resulted in a conservative voice on Obsidian Wings…

  21. All that would be nice indeed. But who says that it has to be a US conservative? Except of course, if all non-US conservatives are liberal on default.

  29. First – a very hearty welcome to Eric. I’ve been reading him for several years now and am psyched to have him on board.
    Second – the sidebars are in dire need of being cleaned up. That’s a near-term project that we’ll hopefully have finished in the next couple of weeks.

    As to my prior bloggy history, I’ve had my own little site since 2004, been blogging at American Footprints (formerly and regrettably called Liberals Against Terrorism) since 2005, was blogging at Road to Surfdom for a while, and I’ve been in a recurring role at Cernig’s highly recommended Newshoggers for a handful of months now.
    In between I did guest stints at Belgravia Dispatch and publius’ Legal Fiction.
    I’m quite the promiscuous one.

  38. Now, ladies and gentleman, I present to you elitism on behalf of cheese. 😉
    One of the few acceptable kinds.
    Should any of the commentariat make it to Madison over the summer, btw, we have something on the order of 30 different kinds of (fantastic) cheese one can try at the Farmer’s Market, including a 12-year cheddar that’s to die for, plus cheese curds less than four hours old. It’s much goodness indeed.

  39. Sounds good, Anarch; I’ll be at MathFest 2008 at the beginning of August, and my Madison contact tells me my hotel is within two blocks of the Farmer’s Market.

  40. Just out of curiosity, Anarch, since it might totally not be of the slightest interest to you, but are you aware of WisCon?
    Mostly a pretty nice bunch of folks, last I looked.
