The 9-11 Report is Out

Here’s the executive summary and here’s the full report. (Very large PDFs.) Pay particular attention to what they say about an Iranian link.

If you need a break from reading them tonight, don’t forget that THE SECOND OBWI POETRY SLAM begins at 8 p.m. Indiana Time (EST)* tonight — that’s 8 p.m. Central Daylight Time, 9 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time, and somewhere between four and seven in the afternoon California time (they’re loosey-goosey that way).

UPDATE” Dave Schuler of The Glittering Eye provides an HTML (browseable) version of the Commission’s report here (he gives the hat tip to Jeff Jarvis, which I dutifully repeat).

  1. You should note that the link to kottke.org is for the Executive Summary only, not the full report.

  2. Yes, von, we don’t change times. Which means that we don’t spend an hour (wild guess) changing the times on the clocks in the house, and their watches, and the car radio every six months. Since the other states do this, and don’t really gain any time, they end up wasting almost a week of their lives changing times.
    Who’s silly now?

Time is, at heart, a coordination game. For those of us who work in the Great State of Indiana but do business elsewhere, it can be mighty confusing for foes/clients/etc.

  4. Hey Von, fellow hoosier here. I’d argue that Indiana is the sane state, everyone else are nutjobs. And I always remind everyone who complains that Indiana is always on Eastern Standard Time. Always. There is no “Indiana time”. Everyone else flits from EST to ESDT. Death to the time changers! Viva the status quo.
