…as I decided to be merciful to everyone, especially my readers. Instead, topic for speculation: Networks to Air Rice Testimony Live Thursday:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The three major U.S. broadcast networks said on Tuesday they will broadcast live National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice (news – web sites)’s testimony before the commission investigating the Sept. 11 2001 attacks.
ABC, NBC and CBS said they would go live at 9 a.m. EDT on Thursday to broadcast the appearance, which comes amid controversy over whether she failed to focus on the threat posed by al Qaeda in the weeks before the Sept. 11 2001 attacks on the world Trade Center and the Pentagon (news – web sites).
A Fox News spokesman said they would offer their coverage to affiliates to air at their discretion.
This can reasonably be called heavyweight coverage; one wonders whether the networks had been given a heads-up by somebody in the know, and if so, from which side? A pity that I’ll be at work during it; if anybody knows of anybody else’s plan to blog the testimony in real time, feel free to drop a line in comments.
Rice won’t offer an apology a la Clarke:
The 9/11 Commission says that the WH won’t give them the speech Rice was to give on 9/11.
You spelled nadir wrong.
Oh. Forget it.
