In other news, go see the new blogroll entries. A couple there that I should’ve thought of on my own.

(I wish I could think of a better way to communicate with youse guys.) I’ve been seeing – well, not a lot of commentary, but certainly enough to pique my interest – on this story: [Link]
The general gist of the story is that there are rumors that Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, who nine months ago signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law, is being divorced on the basis of his sleeping with another man – according to some sources, the Texas Secretary of State, Geoffrey S. Connor.
It’s true that at the moment, these are just rumors; I have yet to see an actual news story about this, just truckloads of “trusted sources”. I’m interested to see how the folks here react to these rumors, though – and if you can ferret out any more information than I’ve been able to glean.
Ouch. EDG, do not say such things in mixed company until they are confirmed. Backfires are dangerous here.
Just looked at the “multiples” section of the blogroll. As good as it gets, and I am really not saying that just because they are my favorites
I’d agree that rumors are best left out of print (or out of blogs) until there’s something newsworthy about them. The Kerry non-scandal became newsworthy because of the fact it was announced on a blog, but the original announcement was unethethical IMHO.
Even a GOP Governor who opposes gay marriage is entitled to better treatment than that.
Edward, umm, I wasn’t about ethics but about tactics. Shame on me.
Well, I posted it because I was looking for confirmation. I’m aware that it’s a rumor; I thought I’d made it pretty explicit that it was a rumor. I’m also aware that I’m not as politically-minded or as well-connected as most of the other people here, and I thought that perhaps someone could help me find out whether a story about which I was in doubt was true.
If that’s a breach of etiquette, then you have the fullest apology I can muster.
“and I thought that perhaps someone could help me find out whether a story about which I was in doubt was true.”
Ain’t no political insider, but two hints:
Listen for screams from the West Wing of the WH
It ain’t true til it’s on TV
