While we’re in geekmode… I came across this while reading up on the background of the new Thomas Harlan series*. Not quite as good as it thinks it is, and shows a faint taint of the gameworld that spawned it, but still pretty interesting. it is one of the major goals of my life to have weird stuff like this constantly folding and unfolding in my head.
Just thought that I’d mention that.
*Which suckered me completely: I thought that I was reading a fairly low-probability alternate history novel, not… well, let’s just say that anybody aware of the major influences on mid-20th century American horror will recognize the themes being used in the series; it’s one of those stories, but Harlan never uses any of the traditional keywords in the book itself (but check out the linked paper’s letterhead), so you don’t pick up on it right away.
Looks interesting. When the series is complete I’ll have to read it. I try not to read partially finished series since my encounter with Robert Jordan.
