Ed Schultz, proud knight of [insert nonjudgemental noun meaning “less conservative than Moe” here]ism, has gone national today in his quest to defeat the awful dragon of Right Wing Talk Radio:
Longtime listeners, first-time players: Dems find radio voice (Registration requires an email but is otherwise free: go here for the guy’s website). No doubt the Democrats will then follow this feint up with beachheads on the critical 8-track tape, Betamax and BBS markets.
Fine, fine, I’m aware that they’ve got a plan, but geez, guys, talk radio’s not a magic bullet or anything. Putting twenty guys on every morning who want to talk about progressive issues and that awful George Bush isn’t going to suddenly cause fifteen million new voters to sprout of the ground, fully dressed and with voter’s registration cards. When Republicans use it – and we don’t all listen to it – it’s primarily for solidarity purposes, not trolling for recruits. If the Democrats want to do the same, that’s great… but just don’t sink your own money into funding it, ‘kay?
Anyway, the links come from reader carter of Tacitus: apparently the program itself isn’t entirely bad, much to carter’s dismay. Glad to hear it, myself: a man’s got to eat, and it’s no skin off of my nose if he does well.
Keep that in mind, too.
