So. What’s the proper response to somebody enabling you to get a bunch o’traffic? A nice thank-you? Reciprocal linkage? A promise to pass up on the next X number of cheap shots? Free beer?

I believe the word you are looking for might be ‘nettiquette’. I try to send thank you e-mails, though I’m lax at noticing when someone has linked to me unless it generates oodles of traffic.
