Novelty Value Saturday Blogs

OK, in deference to the author (who apparently liked being a Flappy Bird in the Ecosystem), you can check out Letters of Marque via the Volokh entry that references it. The linked-to post is funny even to non-lawyers; the site likewise, especially the USB Menorah. I’d blogroll, but she’d probably hunt me down and throw torts at me, or whatever it is that law students do when they can’t sue you on their own yet.

UPDATE: Fortunately, the author of Letters of Marque has decided to simply call herself a Flappy Bird, no matter what – so she may now be safely blogrolled.

A pity, in a way: I enjoy blueberry torts, even when they’re thrown at me…

  1. I’d blogroll, but she’d probably hunt me down and throw torts at me, or whatever it is that law students do when they can’t sue you on their own yet.
Eh, you’ve got a lawyer and a soon to be lawyer with ya on the site. We ain’t afraid of no stinking torts. (‘Cept the kind with raspberry filling. They make a mess when they splatter.)Blogroll her, says I.
    Brilliant, brilliant work.

  2. Still, wouldn’t that be, like, harassment or something? Not that us VRWC types have a clue about the law and all…
And I like blueberry torts better, although hot cherry torts have a special place in culinary heaven.

  3. Still, wouldn’t that be, like, harassment or something?
Everything’s harassment these days. If you can’t beat ’em, why not join?
Trying to be serious for a moment, I suppose it depends on what she said. If she told you not to blogroll her, that’s one thing. If she told everyone that she didn’t want to rise above the flippery fish level, that’s another. If she said either of these two things in a context that suggested she was not serious or was joking, that’s a third.
BTB,* this and all these other things (e.g., the decision of a Chinese Court to award virtual WMDs to a gamer decision, blogged below) makes me think that my profession should collectively find a short pier, and take a long walk.

*I haven’t seen BTB used before, so I’m coining it: means “By the by”.

  4. The way to Flappy Bird-dom

Lying! Why should I have to report what the TTLB ecosystem thinks, when we all know I’m a flappy bird. At first I thought that the reason I wasn’t a flappy bird was that too many (or too few) people…

  5. I’ve decided that from now on, I’m faking it. None of this “Let the ecosystem tell me what I am.” I shall tell the ecosystem. Why try and control the behavior of everyone else, when you can just lie? Ha ha ha! I’m gonna be a great lawyer!
