For the Record…

While I have nothing against anime – indeed, my lifestyle is such that I am periodically exposed to it, and I quite like some of the stuff – I wish to note that the name of this blog has nothing to do with this site; it’s parallel evolution. The geekcontent of the name of this site comes from a completely different direction.

It’s gonna make EgoGoogling a chore, though – at least until our loyal minions* can push us up on the Page Rankings. Or bribe those nice pigeons.

*(Heard offstage at Chez Lane’s)
“Moe?”
“Yes, honey?”
What loyal minions?”
(Pause)
“Don’t they come with the website?”
“No, dear. They don’t.”
Curses…”

  1. Just for the record, I secretly wanted to name this “What Would Brian Boitano Do?”
Ok, I probably would’ve thought better of it.
As for googling, all I know is it’s a great way to make people who are computer-phobic think you have magic powers. When the tech people at my office tried to explain it to my boss I thought I’d be given away, but he somehow ended up with the idea that were little tiny monsters in a computer somewhere responsible for compiling the rankings. (At least, that was how he explained it at the staff meeting.)

Ssshhhh! That’s my primary weapon at work. 🙂

PS: We could make What Would Brian Botano Do? a category, if you like. In fact, I shall do that right now…
PPS: von, before I forget… you’ll need to send me the bio stuff and the links and I’ll put them on. I don’t think that I can give authors owner privileges without giving out the password… 🙁

  3. Yes yes, but what does it all mean, they cried?
I find it funny because I use “obsidian” as one of my other net handles (mostly on games), so I’m just curious where the inspiration comes from.

  4. Well given your bio I would suggest that it is from the RPG Kronos, or specifically it’s first supplemnt. Oddly enough found on the first page of Google on a resume for someone who worked on it.

  5. Moe Lane Thinks He’s Got Problems

He chose the name Obsidian Wings for his weblog, only to find out later that there’s a Japanese cartoon by that name. But I have…

I also wish to note for the record that we will not, as a blog, be selling any anime product, or any product or service that could be viewed as an extension or license of any anime product. Nor did we choose this domain name in order to specifically reference, or trade off the fame/noteriety of, any anime or other product(s). Parallel development means just that: There is no commercial connection between this site or any other product or service sold or offered in connection with the term “Obsidian Wings,” or terms similar thereto.

tell her fans do too come with the turf.
But, like Meteor Blades said, the Favorites list keeps getting longer…
